In the 1770’s, whisky and photography shared a moment in time that would shape history. The Littlemill 250th Anniversary release is a celebration of this meeting of crafts, and the pioneers who share the passion, patience and knowledge required to preserve them.

To celebrate this rare milestone, Michael Henry collaborated with the world renowned Austrian photographer, Stefan Sappert. The exceptional presentation of this release draws its inspiration from Stefan and the traditional Victorian cameras he uses. As part of this exclusive collaboration, Stefan has created 250 silver on black glass plate photographs, recapturing the view from the banks of the river Clyde towards the original Littlemill distillery. Each plate is entirely unique, signed and individually numbered.

The Littlemill 250th Anniversary box is a homage to Stefan and the traditional photographic processes used in the late 19th Century. The delicate cuts in the crystal take their inspiration from a traditional camera lens aperture, focused on capturing Littlemill’s 250 years of history. Each decanter, handblown by the craftsmen of Glencairn, is unique to the Littlemill 250th Anniversary Edition.
Distilled in 1976, Michael Henry personally selected this rare 45 year old whisky for a final six month finish in first- fill Oloroso sherry hogsheads. The result is a delicately floral whisky with a silk-like mouthfeel. Crème caramel and mouth-watering green fruits on the palette are followed by long warming ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg spices in the finish.
